Sunday night

I generally try to hold off until December 1st before I begin my holiday decorating, but this year, I couldn’t wait. I started putting out our stuff on Friday. I’m very pleased with the little trailer park

and my old-fashioned Santa in a glass dome, new this year.
Christmas Decoration
Last night, we watched the Vicar of Dibley Christmas special and White Christmas (we became entranced by our notion that Danny Kaye is a cross between Liberace and Clay Aiken) while I made our advent calendar.
Advent Calendar
They’re paper stockings and each one has a little idea or quotation tucked inside.

I also made a magical creation box (more on that later) and new holiday collage for the shop today
Magic Creation Box
so I guess I did do some things with my four day weekend, although I don’t really feel like it.
I’ve got serious post-holiday let down (the Sunday blues are magnified at the end of Thanksgiving weekend), so I’m trying to focus as much energy as possible on Christmas.
Now, however, it is time to go eat more food. Yes, more food.

I love your trailer park, and quotations stockings, post holiday let down? maybe I am lost but You are so good on what you do. After the holidays I am getting something from your shop. Everything there is so nice and cute.

I love the stockings. Those are adorable. I made some out of felt one year, but I wasn't creative enough to think about putting anything inside them.
I know what you mean about holiday letdown. I'm already dreading the months after Christmas, so I'm trying very hard right now to get into the Christmas spirit and stay there for awhile.
I'll be checking out your shop today, you do have a lot of cute stuff.

Fabulous stuff! But I'm particularly enamored of the trailer park...since my childhood dream was to live in one. I didn't understand as a child that it was considered declasse...I thought it was the coolest way to live. :)

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who felt blue this weekend - now I can console myself with the idea of the 'holiday letdown'. It makes perfect sense. I really love your advent calendar - we'll be making advent wreathes at church on Sunday night, but I am hankering for an advent calendar, after this post and Michelle's. Of course, I wish I could have one with chocolate in it, like I had in Germany...

And the trailer park Christmas is too funny.

The decoration are so great! I'm with you about the post holiday let-down!

Dreamboards 2009

A dreamboard is a collection of words and images expressing that which we wish to manifest. Through the act of creating dreamboards, I articulate goals and desires, focus energy, and express intention. I think of dreamboards as visual prayer. These are my boards for 2009.
