For the longest time, I've had this nagging desire to smoosh some paint around. Everytime I'm in the arts and crafts store, I stroll around the paints and brushes and feel itchy to buy them.
Lately, I've been inspired by so many artists who share their work on the Internet, and bloggers who have begun working in art journals.
Today, I decided to buy a big spiral notepad and some color and begin my own art journal. My intention is that it really will be a journal - a reflection of where I am and where I am going - an extension of affirmation and meditation.
There might be collage in it or pastel drawings or torn photographs or glitter. Each white page represents infinite possibility.
I marked up the first page with a self-portrait about trusting my intuition.

It's not about the product, but it is about freedom and expression and tapping in to divine creative energy and self-discovery. When I mess around with images, I feel like I go "someplace else," and I need to do that now and then.
