The New Moon in Aries occurs on April 14 at 8:29 a.m. EDT. New Moons signify rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, the start of a new cycle. This new moon highlights Aries qualities (enterprising, independent, confident, assertive) and 1st house themes (the self, our potential, conscious will).
This Aries-New Moon (heart & soul) is in easy, friendly alignments with Neptune (hope) and Chiron (healing). The Arien energy is bold, ready for action, and easily enthused with the notion of new ventures. This New Moon phase is action-oriented. Is there something that you'd like initiated? A new project? A new relationship or re-igniting an old one? A new sense of personal freedom? Re-inventing the self? As we forge ahead with renewed vigor (New Moon in Aries), we must first release the past (Chiron) before we can truly be excited to dream or hope of what's to come (Neptune).
Elsewhere in the sky, Saturn (old) and Uranus (new) grow closer to perfecting their opposition (need for balance) which culminates the week on April 26. This alignment between Saturn and Uranus may shine upon events or issues from this past September (2009), when they were last opposite each other. Additionally, Aries is natively ruled by Mars, who is currently retracing the steps he last revisited early February (2010) and first embarked upon late October (2009). For some of us, this New Moon may rehash issues or events from last autumn. We are urged to finally let go of old ways of thinking or doing things; release toxic relationships; forgive the self or others; come to terms with harsh realities; surrender instead of continuing to fight progress; or whatever it may be that holds back the self from fully moving forward.

Amalgamation Fire Nation in Triangle Park
I am sitting at my kitchen table eating homemade biscuits, drinking coffee with almond milk, listening to Esther Hicks. I am waking up, coming around. I am experiencing the energy of this new moon.
Recently, I have said that I felt like I was in a starship hurdling through space toward some sort of cosmic opening, that the ship was shaking and rattling, the cabin pressure intense. I have said that I felt like was holding on, focusing on that opening up ahead, allowing myself to tossed and pushed around that ship, knowing that I was headed toward an important and powerful place.
Today, as I sit in my kitchen and the sun is shining on the brick next door, and my basil is beginning to sprout in the windowsill, as I prepare my mind for my client today and think about the projects on deck for the next few days, I can taste what it is that I've been moving toward. I experience it and know that it is reality.
I can feel myself stepping now into the new beginning, the clean slate.
What does that mean?
For me, it means honestly letting go. It means redirecting my attention when anything - any thought - floats into my consciousness that lowers my vibration or mutes my joy. There is not getting rid of these things, there is simply redirection. Gentle, gentle, easy -- like floating on water.
I have spent a good amount of time in evaluation - deciding what it is that I no longer need and releasing.
I am living by intuition and my heart is dancing.
I am opening the big blank book, pen in hand.
The moon now receives light.
